Throwback Thursday

The Canadian Bank of Commerce building was located on the south-east corner of Ouellette Avenue and Riverside Drive and is this week’s Throwback Thursday picture. This photograph was taken sometime in the 1920s showing the four flour structure that has the banking facilities for the Canadian Bank of Commerce. In 1961 the Canadian Bank of Commerce was merged with the Imperial Bank of Canada to form the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. This building was eventually replaced with the current 15 storey office tower in 1974 with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce still occupying the ground of the new building.
