This weeks Throwback Thursday pic was taken sometime in the late 1940s early 1950s of Sandwich Street (today Riverside Drive) looking east at Ouellette Avenue. How this scene has changed over the years! The Ritz Hotel to the left, the British American Hotel in the center of the picture and the CN Train Station in the distance along Sandwich Street. All these structures were torn down to make way for the river front park system. The building on the right of the photograph was demolished in the late 1990s to make way for the Chrysler Building.
