Windsor Public Library again has a fantastic program of summer activities planned for area children and all free of charge. The fun officially kicks off on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Chisholm Branch of Windsor Public Library (1075 Ypres). In conjunction with the Optimist Community Centre, there will be face painting for kids, a tasty BBQ and a sidewalk book sale.
The theme for Summer 2019 programs and activities is the Natural World. Participants will be asked to explore the stories and science of nature through adventure and play. Whether exploring in the backyard or the world beyond, kids will be amazed by the natural world and the role it plays in imagination and their daily lives. Summer programs run throughout July and August at all WPL locations.
Parents and children are reminded to drop in to any neighbourhood Windsor Public Library location and pick up a free TD Summer Reading Club kit, which contains stickers and an activity book. This reading club inspires children to keep reading all summer long through regular visits to their public libraries. Last year, approximately 5,000 area children participated in our summer programs.
