Throwback Thursday

The date is March 18, 1958, and this weeks Throwback Thursday Pic has the camera pointed at the Canadian Bank of Commerce building located at the south-east corner of Riverside Drive and Ouellette Avenue. This building was opened to the public in 1899, and would be demolished in 1972 to make way for a new 14 story Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce building that would open on May 7, 1974. During the period when the old building was demolished and the new office tower was to opened, the bank branch was temporary housed in what is now the current location of Windsor’s Community Archives at 85 Pitt Street East.
