We at the Windsor Public Library are trying to boost the “social” element of our social media efforts! While we enjoy dealing with our patrons in person, we also want to interact and engage people online. WPL uses social media to hear your ideas, answer your questions, and encourage you to share your library experiences with others. To that end, May 1-14 marked the first in a series of social-media contests that WPL is running throughout 2014. This initial contest had patrons taking pictures of themselves using items checked out from WPL and posting them on our facebook page. Each photo received a ballot in our draw, and individuals were allowed to enter up to 5 times. We want to thank all of you who participated! There were over 40 entries in total and we had a huge amount of fun looking at the photos. It was interesting to see how many of you opted for photos of your children or pets rather than of yourselves. It seems that even in the age of “selfies”, some of us are still a bit camera-shy.

We are pleased to announce that the ballot drawn at random was for Sandy Benvenuto! She will be choosing a $75 gift card from one of the following: Biblioasis Books, Dr. Disc, Chapters, Best Buy, iTunes.
