Book Buddy Program

The Windsor Public Library Book Buddy Program is a volunteer-based literacy program designed to assist and encourage children to become great readers by motivating and providing a positive reading experience.

 

Program Benefits for Children:

■ one-on-one reading with supportive volunteer
■ increase confidence and motivation to read
■ variety of reading materials and fun activivities
■ opportunity to develop literacy skills (ex. reading comprehension, vocabulary, narration, etc.)
■ available online/virtually OR at a Windsor Public Library branch

Application Process for Volunteers:

1. Volunteer Application
2. Volunteer Interview
3. Volunteer Training
4. Successful References Completed
5. Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) Submitted to the WPL
6. Buddy Match Contact and Acceptance

Application Forms will be posted soon!

Children must be 6 to 12 years old. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) must be present during the reading sessions.
