Dr. Ron W. Ianni

Dr. Ron Ianni (1935-1997) B.A. 1957. Called to the Bar: 1963 Q.C.

From the time Ron Ianni became a student at the University of Windsor he was committed to the Windsor community. As Law Professor, Associate Dean of Law, Dean of Law and, finally, as President from 1984-1997, Ron made a remarkable contribution to the institution. Through his tenure, Dr. Ianni pioneered many changes that would improve the Faculty of Law and later the university community. He was highly respected by colleagues and professionals in his field.

Dr. Ianni was fluent in English, French, and Italian, and thus able to communicate and serve a number of local, national and international organizations, including; acting President of the United Way of Windsor and Essex County; Legal Representative on the Canadian delegation to the United Nations, and Vice President of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. The Ron Ianni Entrance Scholarship was created in his honour. There are four scholarships available, each valued at $20,800.
