Speed Friending Hits WPL

Are you new to the City? Have you recently finished college or university and are looking to expand your social circle? We know it can sometimes be hard to make new connections as an adult, and that’s why Windsor Public Library is so excited to offer Speed Friending!  You might be thinking, “What in the world is speed friending?” and we’re more than happy to answer that question for you!

Designed for those age 18-35, Speed Friending works just like the popular Speed Dating. A group of folks looking to make some new connections will gather together for a fun and informal evening of mingling and networking. You’ll be paired with your potential new pals for 5 minute intervals where you’ll get the chance to chat and see if you click. After your 5 minutes is up, you’ll move on to the next potential pal. If you’re shy, don’t worry because we’ll provide conversation starters to break the ice and get you chatting. We also encourage all of our speed frienders to bring a favorite book to share as an additional conversation starter.

Speed Friending takes place on Wednesday, May 31 from 5:30-7:30pm at our Riverside Branch. Feel free to come solo or in a group but please make sure to register.

We have a maximum of 30 spots available and they’ve already begun to fill up. If you’re interested in joining in on the fun, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. You can register by calling us at 519-255-6770, ext. 3310 or e-mailing us at: jcakmak@windsorpubliclibrary.com or lpieczonka@windsorpubliclibrary.com

Perhaps the WPL could consider the same for above ages above 35?

Great question, David! Once we get our feet wet with this event we would love to expand it to various age groups. Keep your eyes peeled for additional events in future.
