Windsorite adds to Chicken Soup for the Soul Series

Windsor Public Library is very proud that one of patrons has had her work included in Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Spirit of Canada. Durre Jabeen is a frequent visitor to the library, attending events like the Writers’ Group, colouring group and the Conversation Circle, which was the subject of her story.

Durre has been coming to the WPL Writers’ Group since it began in 2012, and has self-published books through the Self-Publishing service.  This was her first attempt at non-fiction writing, and her story and how she expressed it impressed the editors of the series enough to include her piece “Conversation Circle” in the book.

We are all so proud of Durre and her hard work and bright spirit. She is a vibrant member of our WPL community, and we wish her great success. You can read her story and the others in the book, by borrowing a copy from the library.

Durre’s piece “Conversation Circle” shines like a diamond in the “Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Spirit of Canada.” It talks about people coming together for a class and becoming part of one another’s lives. Her writing touches life and finds deep meaning in simple events. Keep on writing and touching people’s lives with positive thinking.
