Born in London, Ontario, Adam Trupish grew up in Windsor. He began boxing at the Windsor Amateur Boxing Club at age 13. At first, Adam was intimidated by the gym, but soon felt at home under the guidance of Charlie Stewart (himself a member of the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame). Adam also has a bike safety commercial that runs in the Windsor area and the Adam Trupish Random Acts of Kindness Award is presented annually in Chatham, Ont. to recognize good deeds and leadership.

Adam Trupish was born February 8, 1979 in London, Ontario, but moved shortly after to Windsor. He and his wife Autumn Dempster still live in Windsor. Personal photos and belongings were stolen from their car in 2017, including baby photos and Olympic memorabilia.
