Celebrate The 20th Anniversary of Black History Month With The Library Live Children’s Club

Today marks the first day of the 20th Anniversary of BLACK HISTORY MONTH in Canada.
Please join the Library Live Children’s club tomorrow Tuesday, February 2,  5:15 PM – 6:45 PM as we celebrate in art, crafts, games, music, books, amazing artists, authors, scientists, explorers,  like Mama Miti a.k.a. Wangari Maathai an environmentalist nobel prize winner from Kenya,  Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela an anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, Michaëlle Jean former Governor General of Canada, and current Secretary-General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, after . Maya Angelou, a poet, author, and civil rights activist from USA, Matthew Alexander Henson the first African-American Arctic explorer, Lincoln MacCauley Alexander, the first IMG_2850 IMG_2888 IMG_2875  IMG_2889black Member of Parliament in the House of Commons, the first black federal Cabinet Minister serving as federal Minister of Labour, the first black Chair of the Worker’s Compensation Board, and the 24th, Lieutenant-Governor serving Ontario from 1985 to 1991, and more.
