For the month of June, which is Indigenous History Month, over 300 libraries across Canada are teaming up to read the same book at the same time: Glass Beads, by Dawn Dumont. This is Canada’s first ever #1eReadLivrelCanada campaign, and Windsor Public Library is thrilled to participate.
From June 3-30 library customers can borrow the eBook and eAudiobook from WPL’s cloudLibrary collection on demand – no holds or wait lists. You can also borrow this book in print format. Readers can discuss the book in the Vancouver Public Library’s dedicated One eRead Canada’s Book Club page on Facebook, and can also participate in Saskatoon Public Library’s Facebook Live author talk on June 12th at 8:00 p.m. Please check out that page for information on how to ask questions.
About the Book
Glass Beads is by Saskatchewan-born Plains Cree author, actor, and comedian Dawn Dumont. It’s an engaging collection of interconnected short stories about four First Nations people, set against a backdrop of two decades of political, social, and cultural change.
