WPL is joining the Instagram world and bringing our picture taking and hastagging to another level. WPL already has a presence on many social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. So far, we’ve been very successful at reaching our patrons and the wider community through these outlets. This week alone the WPL Twitter has blown up with the very popular Freedom to Read Week. The humorous posts on our Facebook have attracted many laughs and comments. They have also been a great venue for WPL to run the social media contests, where several winners walked away with great prizes. Naturally, we thought Instagram was the next step. This wildly popular picture and video sharing app has over 300 million users. It is a celebrity favourite for insider pics, as well as being responsible for the launching of careers, for those who have been dubbed Instagram Stars. Now, WPL is hoping our pictures and videos will make us rise to stardom. The 3 most popular tags for books are #books #book and #read. We will be making sure to use these so we can soon reach 26.9 million followers (just like Kim Kardashian).
