FRED 2.0 is here!
Click on Services in the menu above and then look for the bookmobile photo for more information.  Or you can use the link below to access the bookmobile calendar directly.
The new bookmobile is equipped to offer the same services as a regular library branch, including book lending, digital resources, and various programs for all ages.
The Bookmobile schedule can also be found in the Events Calendar.

is open 7 days a week in 9
locations in 2026. Hours of operation are also standardized as noon to 8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on all other days.

WPL Teacher Academy starting this week

Calling all teachers or aspiring teachers…our first ever 4-week Teacher Academy is set to begin this Thursday, July 14th from 3:00pm-4:00pm at the Central Branch.  Come for the introductory session to learn about what the library can offer teachers and their students, learn how to use our library catalogue to efficiently browse and store materials for units, and take a tour of our Central Branch. Seed Library and Demonstration Garden Opens at Central Library

Central Library will be home to a SEED LIBRARY and DEMONSTRATION GARDEN thanks to Councillor and Library Board member, Rino Bortolin, who directed over $1,200 of Ward Funds to the project. The Windsor Public Library is honoured to have received the Pat on the Back award in recognition of our Seed Lending Library. The Windsor Essex County Environment Committee’s Pat on the Back award is a prize given to local environmental projects occurring in Windsor and Essex County. This prestigious award is given to projects that display exemplary grassroots environmental improvement in the community. WPL to Honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women with Faceless Dolls Project

During the week of May 16th – 22nd, the Windsor Public Library will be hosting a special project to bring awareness to the cases of close to 1200 missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada. In coordination with the Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre and the Métis Nation of Ontario, WPL will be hosting the Faceless Dolls Project. Congratulations to local student, Enzo Campa, winner of the English Language division of the Poetry in Voice competition sponsored by the Griffin Trust for Excellence in Poetry. PRINCE – The loss of a great artist and amazing talent.

We lost a remarkable recording artist, musician, actor, songwriter, and mentor.  Prince died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at age 57.  Prince’s music gave a generation joyful dances as well as addressed serious situations such as abuse and alcoholism to name a few.
